Route for Dual Nics

I have a Box that I want to act as sort of a firewall/sniffer and I am a little unsure on how to route from one nic to the other on the same machine. Example One nic traffic comes from Internet roter. Nic two is connected to the Lan.
How would I set this up to pass traffic from the internet to the Lan and from the Lan to the internet.
