Hi, Normally I find all the answers for problems by looking at these types of sites but the issue I am currently having needs an explianation to find the sloution, so please bare with me while I ramble on.
Ok I moved to Cyprus from the Uk about 6 month ago, just before I left I brought a Belkin Wireless G router so that I could share my files and internet connection from my main PC to my laptop.
In Cyprus things are a little different, backward some might argue.
My service provider has installed a wirless speedtouch router but have turned the wirless feature off and I am unable to get into the routers control panel as the ISP have set a password and will not allow access.
I tried to get my ISP to give me all the configureation info so that I could configure my Belkin router and use that instead of the Speedtouch that I dont have permissions for. However my ISP have said that they do not know some of settings I am requesting and tell me that setting over here are different and are not compatable with my Belkin Router. I really want wirless conectivity. I asked my ISP could they unlock their Speedtouch Routers settings so that I can enable wirless conectivity, they have refused and incist that they dont support this feature in anyway currently.
I did come with a solution and it did work for a while, I have two Ethernet adapters on my main PC so I set the top connection to the speed touch Modem which is also my defult internet connection. The bottom connection was connected to my wirless enabled Belkin router. This aloud me share files between computers but did not alow me to share the interent connection for soemreason? I was However able to share the internet connection by changing the bottom conections IP address to the same address as the Belkin Router, every thing was great for a few days but now more frequently I am getting a system error message saying that there is a conflict as 2 computers on the network are sharing the same IP. If I change the IP address I can have file sharing but no internet, I want both can you help?
