Routing Problem

I have 2 cisco 2650 routers at my main location. 1 for internet (with a Sun gauntlet firewall/proxy) and 1 for my WAN. If I try to FTP something over the Internet, it never makes it out of the network. I’ve checked the firewall, all ftp ports areturned on. IF I take out my gateway for the WAN, I can then send it out over the internet. Anybody got any ideas what I can do to get around having to do this?
