Running Loadstate over network using SMS

by neil.dutton . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

Hello,

Any help on this one would be appreciated.

Our organisation is currently running a number of pilots to determine the best way to deploy new PCs/laptops using USMT scanstate and lodstate to ensure that local files are retained and restored to the new equipment.

Currently we have scanstate working perfectly but appear to be unable to run loadstate through sms. We have searched all the web articles we can and still can’t resolve this.

Scanstate will happily create a mig data file on the server but loadstate cannot redeploy it to the new PC. If we run loadstate on the PC/laptop in person it works fine but as soon as we try to run it through sms or psexec we run into problems. It appears that loadstate does not pick up the required network permissions to access read and reply the mig data.

We are using usmt301 on XP machines on the same domain.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Regards,

Neil
