Running out of IP’s on a flat 192.* network

I am running out of IP’s on a small school Win2003 network. I have my high school on
192.168.2.* (all PC’s) and most of my elementary on 192.168.2.* with a real small 192.168.1.* MAC network with server and <20 machines. We are this year transferring over to all PC's and will be going over our .1 to .253 amount allowed. I wondered if a simple fix for this would be to add a scope on the DHCP server of 192.268.1.1 to 192.168.1.253 with exclusions? Are there any problems in doing this, now or in the future. I realize that VLANS would do the job better but I am not savvy enough yet to setup a network like this (mostly self-taught). Brent careyb@osdco.com
