SAFE MODE

Recently there was a virus attack in my network. I took the relavent tool and ran it on a win 98 machine in the normal mode—the result was “no virus found”. I ran the same tool on the same machine , now in the safe mode and the result was “98 files infected and deleted”.

On my NT machine I did not get any infection result. Is there any safe mode for NT? What is the way to ensure that the virus tool result is reliable on NT machines?
