Sales Commission

In an environment providing IT solutions & services, sales cycle can be long and the components involved can be many. Typically, a deal is closed by a team effort instead of individual sales person. Anyone out there has experience in working out sales commission in such an environment and managed to keep the sales people striving for better results? Thanks
