One of my clients has a RISC 6000 AIX Server supplying resources to a remote LAN via a pair of CISCO 1601 routers. The CISCO’s are currently routing NETBIOS by way of the IP Helper Address command between PC’s at the main location and PC’s at the remote location (works great). Recently I installed SAMBA on the AIX Server – local PC’s can indeed use the AIX as an NT/2000 Server. Added routing of the CIFS (updated SMB) protocol via the UDP port 445 to the routers by way of the IP Forwarding command but the remote PC’s cannot see the AIX Server as an NT/2000 Server, i.e. the shares I have setup which can be seen by the local PC’s cannot be seen by the remote PC’s. Also routing port 139. Ports 137, and 138 are routed by virtue of the NETBIOS protocol. Am I missing a port or is this a SAMBA issue. Thanks in advance.
