Saving info to floppy

cannot save info to floppy disk.computer says it is write protected. I have moved the write protection slot on the disk open and closed still get the same result. I have also installed a new
Floppy drive and purchased new IBM 1.5 formatted
disks.It reads any disk ok. but cannot delete material or formatt or save anything to disk.
