Saving printer settings, NT?

How do I set a standard for printer settings in NT? I have a label printer attached to one of my users pc. I works fine except everytime they want to print they have to select Portrait and the label type. After you click apply it doesn’t save them. I have looked at permissions but it does it for an administrator as well. When you choose print from a program eg. word. The settings you get are diffrent from any other package. If I go to properties on that printer and choose device settings itdoesn’t give me these settings it only gives me Halftone and timeout settings. How do I set these settings as standard on a machine.
