Hi.
SBS 4.5, mixed, NT and 2k on two nets.
Often some user get the message “too many connections, the maximum limit that this machine can accept has been reached”.
Everything seems ok (file and folder permissions, licenses etc.).
Even logging off ALL users doesn’t solve the problem on some particoular client (it persists tomorrow morning). Rebooting the server clears it.
– What can be wrong (I suspect something in WINS)
– How can the extra session or file acces be checked from the server (who and where is the violation ?)
-How can it be cleared without putting everything down ?
– Time to disconnect has been reduced to 4 min and this helped but did not solve.
– Can anything be improved using LMHOSTS cache preloadin and/or /x1c etc ? On ALL clients or just some, or from the server side ?
This seems a repetitive question onb the forum(s) But have never seen a complete approach or solution or description of this particoular network activity.
Thank you. Mike
