scan tak 2c flatbed scanner

i have recently changed computers and now have a gateway e-1000 with 128mb ram 6gb hd and 200mhz processor with win 98. my scan tak 2c scanner that i connected to this computer is not being recognised and is not working. i had to get a 25pin male tomale adaptor so that i could connect it to the printer port on this computer. can you please advise as to what i need to do to get this scanner working. i have since gotten rid of my other computer. please respond to leacroftb@yahoo.com or call me at 407-375-0162. thanks
