Scanner not found (scanner could not be

by justinvt . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

Windows is no longer detecting my HP scanjet 6300c. When I first installed the software and connected the scanner back in April everything worked just fine. I used the scanner regularly for about two months then I did not use it until July nineteenth. At this time I received the message that the scanner could not be initialized (scanner no found.) The scanner is hooked up via USB port.
I checked all of the connections.
I tested the USB ports with other USB devices and Windows detected them fine.
Then I thought that may I had a faulty USB cable, so I got a new one. This did not work. I tested the scanner and software on a dell computer running windows 95 ( I’m on a HP Pavilion 4463 running windows 98) and this computer detected the scanner. ( I even scanned a picture into this computer using scanner the supplied software.)
Both the USB ports on my HP and the scanner have been tested separately and they all function.
I then thought that maybe I needed to get a SCSI terminator for the scanner even thou
