Scanner problem – Plustek OpticPro 12000P

When I scan a picture the resulting copy is in ‘blocks’ so instead of seeing a single picture it looks like the bricks in a wall.

i.e. the blocks of picture are not aligned.

I am using Windows XP

Any ideas?
