Scanner – Windows 2000 problem

I have just installed Windows 2000 Professional + Spk 4 on my PC. I have a Primascan Colorado flatbed scanner with the most recent driver downloaded from the manufacturers site. I use Textbridge Pro 11. I used to run Windows Me on my machine and all was well, but now, when I try to scan I get a Text Brige Pro box with “Waiting” displayed for about 40 secs before the scanner starts the first sweep. Each time I start a fresh document the same problem occurs. If I am scanning several pages of the same document the problem does not arise. I don’t think it is to do with lamp warming as it happens even if the lamp gas been on for a while.

Anybody any ideas. The program still works. Its just a pain in the neck.
