Script to automate virtual directory redirection

I have multiple virtual directories under a single website. When one is under maintenance, I have a URL that I redirect the user to. I am looking for a script that will automate the process so that I do not have to go into IIS and manually create the redirect. These are mostly Win 2003 servers but also a couple 2008. Thanks!
