??Scuzzy to USB or PCI Adaptors

I have a HP 5P Scanner and need to connect it to my new pentium III which doesn’t accept the scanner’s scuzzy card. Is there a way to hook the scanner through the USB port?? I understand that there are PCI to Scuzzy adaptors, but this would likelymake the scanner run very slowly. Any suggestions?
