SD Card “Write Protection”

And a Merry Christmas to all.

I have a 2GB SD card in my camera which, entirely by itself (I promise) has become “write protected” and therefore cannot be used.

Can anyone tell me how to remove this annoying feature? I have tried the usual right clicking options and even tried to format it using the command screen all to no avail.
