SecuRemote connection problem

When connecting to a Checkpoint VPN server using the SecuRemote client. I sometimes receive the following error when connecting over a phone line or over a PPPoE connection:

Negotiation with firewall at site has failed.
Received notification: invalid exchange type

This problem never occurs when I use a Cable connection. I used the same machine (W2K) for all the tests.
