Seeking recommendations…

I am looking for a good text that could be used as a general overview of network performance monitoring that is not Cisco specific. It needs to be up to the latest and greatest in monitoring technologies, and usable at a Community College level. I can provide an edited copy of the course syllabus if requested.

I have been asked to help networking faculty find a new text, but networking is not my strong point. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!

Hmmm… I will have to take this class in future as I am pursuing a degree program that requires it.
