selfssl certiificate and web server problems

I have a web server running and i want to secure it on the web by using ssl certificate. I installed the certi and used active directory to deploy. Problem is every time I bring up the page https.. it says the certificate name is not the same the site name. I have tried changing the name of certi but I am lost! Any one with knowledge of secure web servers please help me. Thanks.
