Server 2003 DC in a 2000 domain

by amcintosh . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I am looking to promote a 2003 server to a DC within my existing domain.

the problem is that when I promote the machine, and reboot, several key services hang in a “Starting state”. The services include COM+, network connections.

When rebooting, the machine sits for about 5mins at “Preparing network Connections” then displays a message saying that a Service could not be started.

When you log in, The W2k PDC can be pinged, but there are no network connection within the control panel. The AD looks like it has been replicated successfully.

Any ideas what could be causing this???

Thanks
