I have a server that I manage that was upgraded from a Server 2000 DC to a server 2003 DC with Exchange. It also replicates with another server 2003 DC that was never on 2000. When viewing licensing, I see a negative value in the licenses reached column. Currently, I have 30 licenses installed per server for Windows Server 2003, and 30 licenses installed for Exchange server, configured in per user mode. I have done the licensing usage reset procedure found in MSKB article# 185953, which did successfully reset licenses, allowing me to re-issue them, but the same result occured. Could this be due to an unsuccessfuly server 2000-2003 migration, or is there a common issue here? I don’t think disabling the license logging service is a valid idea, eventhough Microsoft says so. Any help would be appreciated!
