Server 2003 setup

I just recently was asked to install a new Dell server 2003 computer. The one that I am replacing is also a Dell 2003 computer. I would like to know how to take all the settings off the old computer and install them on the new one. Do I need to add the new computer on the network first? Make it part of the current domain?
Anyones’ help is greatly appreciated.
