Server 2003 vs Home Server

My father would like to have remote access to his accounting software (SAGE) from a laptop via a 3G card. Currently using ‘logmein’ to remote access the machine with Sage on it.

He wants a server but is unsure of whether Homeserver would run a VPN or does he need the full 2003 server product! As the ‘Logmein’ solution is not really practical.

The office has 2 machines, so Homeservers backup options is very attractive.
