Server 2003, will not boot, just loops!

Hi, am a bit new to all of this, am learning as I go. I was a given a previously working server with Server2003 installed, however, the windows\system32\confif\system file had become corrupt or missing. I used an XP cd to correct this issue and now it trys to boot but after the loading screen, it just restarts itself. Please help!!
