Server room fire alarm systems

We have an fm 200 fire suppression system in our server room, and we are experiancing to many false alarms originating from the photovoltaic smoke detectors under the floor. These two sensors are near one of the ac units in the room. Our fire system contractor wants to change to heat sensors, is this to code? Is it a good solution? Would you advise this course of action?
