Setting a VTP Domain on a Cisco 3500 Swi

by jon pratt . Updated 13 years, 4 months ago

Okay I’m trying to set the VTP domain name on my new Cisco 3500 series catalysts. I’ve consoled into one of the 3548s and I’m trying to set the VTP domain using the set command: set vtp domain name DomainName. That is yeilding no results in fact the set command seems to be able to do nothing at all. I’ve looked at the status of the VTP and it shows the switch as a server which it needs to be in order to configure settings for VTP. Anyway all I’m trying to do is set the VTP domain so that when the 6509 chassis switch comes in we can establish VLANs and re-address our network. Thank you all for your help.
