Here is what we have:
1.5MB T1 connection. Currently behind a Netgear FVS338 VPN router.
A Server 2003 system with two nics, one currently disabled.
Over 25 users at main office, about five of them go to remote jobsites and connect back with VPN using Netgear VPN client.
Aging FVS338 is becoming unreliable at keeping Internet connection to LAN. The dynamic users are having to reboot or repair network connection to regain Internet conenctivity. They do not lose LAN connectivity.
Two buildings with plain gigabit switches and a fiber connection between them.
What we are looking to do:
Split the T1 connection using the block of static addresses we have with it, and place the FVS338 in a purely static state with a connection to the server for VPN purposes. Use another static address from the T1 to add a Linksys firewall router to provide Internet to the rest of the LAN. We want to separate them now because we will be adding a faster DSL connection in the near future to handle the Internet connection.
I would like to make the connections using the equipment we have. Our current IP scheme is 192.168.0.x / 255.255.255.0. The remote jobsites all have a different IP scheme from this one. I would like to connect the new router using the current scheme to keep the local users form having to change any settings and connect the FVS338 to the second nic on the server to provide connectivty for the VPN users when they are away from the office.
What would I need to configure to make this happen?
