Microsoft has come up with very strong technology – is called sharepoint, its not only a document management system but also a record management system, business process management, ECM, it also provides you a portal solution etc. I am working on a project where I have seen more than 90k documents managing on a file server now they want to move all that documents from file server to sharepoint 2007,
On a file server they have to do lot efforts in order to manage docs and create revised or final version where every time management has pain to manage docs.
So After seeing sharepoint interface they are taking long breath -and feeling that Microsoft has made its management life soooooper easy.
I might get back to you when I will start customizing it and discuss what I have done it requires a lot of customization on every part of sharepoint.
