Sharepoint 3.0 outgoing mail server PORT

With Sharepoint 3.0 I can not seem to find a way to point the “outgoing mail server” to our mail server. Our mail server is configured to send mail out on port 8080. This version of Sharepoint does not seem to support the server if I simply put in the server name. It does not allow me to specify the port. Anyone have a solution?
