SharePoint Services 3.0 and SharePoint 2007

Have a server that has SharePoint 2007 on it and I need to take that off and put SharePoint Services on it. Am I able to load sharepoint service on the box while SharePoint 2007 is on there? They want to be able to make sure the Sharepoint Services site has the same data on it as the Sharepoint 2007 site. I would then uninstall SharePoint 2007. So my question is can I load SharePoint Services on a box that already has SharePoint 2007?
