SharePoint Services 3.0 and SharePoint 2007

I have a server that has SharePoint 2007 installed. They would like to bring up some sites in sharepoint services 3.0. Am I able to load sharepoint service 3.0 on the same box? I would then be uninstalling Sharepoint 2007 after they have everything they need.
