Sharing printer in a peer-to-peer netwrk

I am running a DOS program in a Windows environment (98) and the problem is that within the program you have the option to print. At the workstation that the printer is physically connected to, it prints fine. AT all other workstations that are sharing the printer, it will not print until after you exit the program. I tried changing the spool settings with no avail. Any ideas???
