Shift Key problem…please help

at my wit’s end. have done untold google searches and cannot find the answer.

when i try to capitalise a letter, my left shift key automatically opens a search window at the left side of the web page and similarly opens the find window in outlook express. my right shift key puts a capital D in front of everything….arrrgh

have set accessibility options to default…what else?
