Should I also get my certs aside from my degree?

Right now, I am attending my first year at ITT (Yes, I already know the bad puns/reviews) under the CNS (Computer Network Systems) program. I have done 3 years of help desk type of stuff and 1 year in hardware (3 in all), and I am asking if i should bother getting the following certs…

I was told my course covers everything, or most things in MCSE, and I was advised to take the test when I have taken those courses.

Right now, I am working at a job as a Help Desk Support technician (Remote assistance), So I am just wondering, cuase techs are telling me different things, If I should go for the Comptia certs, also, if you think i should go for more certs, please name them, and thank you.
