Should I go for Certifications??

Hi,
I am a MS student in Computer Systems Engineering specializing in Computer Networking. I am currently in the second semester in one of the very good universities in the US. I was wondering if anyone would advise me on whether I should go for the MCSE and the CCNP certifications. I am planning to take up both and complete the certifications by the time I graduate. What are the benefits of these ceritifications? In the end, will it really matter if a MS graduate has the MCSE and the CCNP? What are the chances of me getting a good job ignoring other parameters like my interview performance etc? I also do not have any work experience..
