I know everyone loves to subnet.
Right our company’s local LAN is set up using a standard Class C network. We have two other sites coming online in the near future. I would like to keep everyone on the same network and create child domains for the two new locations on the same network but different subnets.
My question is…..
How much of a pain in butt is it going to be to change my current IP configuration to the one I have in mind, for example. My local LAN is 192.168.30.0 /24 and I want to change to 172.28.0.0 /21 giving me 30 usable subnets with 2046 hosts.
I have multiple Win2003 servers, a router acting as a public router, a Watchguard X700, and many workstations.
Is it worth the time or is there a better way.
Thanks in advance
Mike
