Shutdown Problems

by swhymark . Updated 17 years, 11 months ago

Hi all,

I’m having a problem with my student XP PCs not shutting down. This happens when the PC has been sitting at the login screen for a while, maybe during a lunch break, or the last class of the day.
If the PC has been rebooted, and is sitting at the login screen for a while, the screensaver kicks in. If the power off button is then pressed, the PC does not power off, it just sits at the screensaver window. If I move the mouse or hit the keyboard to deactivate the screensaver, the shutting down message is on the screen, and the PC shuts down.
When I created the image, I disabled screensavers before sysprepping, and have checked that this is still the case and it is.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks.

Steve.
