Single DVI to two monitors?

Is it possible to use a single port DVI video card and enable two monitors?
I have seen adapters that change DVI to AGV;
is there one to change AGV to DVI?
Is there an adapter to direct signal from one DVI port to two monitors?
I am looking for dual monitor support, without
the high costs of a dual DVI video card.
