slow boot of win95a

I installed a 13.6 dma66 hard drive on a gateway 133 pentium with about 80 meg of ram and ami bios. I installed a new controller card to handle the new hard drive. However when I boot up after the windows logo comes up, i get the text screen that came up before the windows logo and then it stops for quite a while and then it goes into windows and works fine. Any ideas?
