Hi All.
I have one problem machine here that is running Office 2003. It’s our Creative Director’s machine and he is a heavy user of Outlook, Word and Excel. The difficulty he is experiencing is his access to files/folders stored on our W2K server. If you navigate through Explorer, the file access is as fast as any other machine but if the same navigation is attempted out of Outlook or Word or any other Office 2003 app, it’s really slow. If you click on the nav window a couple of times you’ll get a “not responding” message. So far i have done the following:
Replaced NIC
Modified ‘Open’ settings for .doc and .xls files
Un installed all service packs.
Un installed/ reinstalled Office 2003
As I saud before, file/network access is fine through explorer, but slow as anything through office.
