Slow Saving to Server

by rob.lucchetti . Updated 21 years, 8 months ago

Hello, I am reaching my wits end on this so any help is appreciated. I am running windows 2003, single server, A/D domain with DNS and DHCP runnning. When my clients try to work with WORD or Excel files that are on the server, the program seems to pause for a second or two, barring any changes being made to the document, or saving the document. The problem started when they went from peer to peer using and XP machine as the server, to a full domain as listed above. Any ideas. I have tried altering th TCP stack as per th Ms Knowledge bases, unchecking the “automatically look for folders” (something like that) option on the client, i am really stumped. They are running off a dell power edge server with a 73 gig scsi u320 drive in it. This slowness should not be happening. They are all connected through a linksys router thats about 2 years old, but that was working fine before we put in the server, so i cant imagine it being broken now.
