Small Business Server 2003 sp2

I am trying to join a winnt4 sp6 to a sbs2003 domain, the winnt machine is setup as a backup controller. I have dhcp active on sbs2003 and tried to join with and without this. Have now static IP on winnt. Any help much apreciated.
