smart card login error

In my domain smart card login is enabled and I can RDP to all the servers and use smartcard to connect to them. The issue I am having is that none of my client windows 7 machines are able to logon to the domain using smart card. If I was to logoff and try to log back on to the domain using smart card I get the below error.
