SMB Server 5.0 Licenses exhausted

I am having a problem with the SMB server not alowing clients to log onto the network. I have a win2k server with win98 clients, with 3 hp network shared printers (jetdirect) I have gone as far as setting the licenses to the max that can be put in. (999999)I have followed some of the step listed in Microsofts KB with similar problems (changing registry entries, deleting the licenses and reinstalling) I have reinstalled win2k (twice). There is no info to date at Microsoft relating to this exact error… Can anybody throw me a bone???
