SMTP through Cisco Router

I have multiple subnets at my office and I am trying to telnet to the exchange server. If I use the subnet that the exchange server is on then I can connect. If I use a machine on a different subnet then I cannot connect to exchange in this way.

What do I need to be looking for to resolve this issue?
