Sony DVD Writer is not Read/Write DVD.

I have purchased a Sony DVD writer 2 months before. I’m using Windows XP Sp2. From the beginning the drive functions well.. but now it cant read/write the DVDs.. But it can write/read the Cds. I’m afraid that the problem is with Winxp. Pls anyone help me to resolve this problem.
