I discovered that the settings on my account had been changed so that “out of office auto reply” was turned on and the above message added as a “signature”. I have reported this to Google and also ensured a “Red” rating on Web of Trust. I looked at System Restore and found that yesterday (when the messages started being sent – my girlfriend alerted me with a “What’s this about?”) and found that something called Software Distribution Service 3.0 had appeared at 10.05 yesterday.
I wonder how this managed to invade? I use HTTPS exclusively.
