Specific deployment tools for linux servers

Hi,

I’m using at this point CVS to do deployment tasks. I would like some complementary software (free or charged) that would help me to do:
compares between xml config files
deployment and roll back of classes, jars and configs.
The main purpose would be to eliminate the human error that may occur in this case. Any suggestions?
